He Perfectly Knows
I sat contemplating Him
And the Spirit took me there
I thought of His deep devotion
And all the pain He had to bear
What was He thinking of
That night in Gethsemane
He focused on nothing else
Save only you and me
Jesus Christ knows
He’s truly been there
He’s there to succor you
With deep and infinite care
He perfectly knows the sting
He’s painfully aware
Of your hurt deep inside
That’s why He’s always there
When He bled from every pore
You didn’t briefly pass His mind
He focused on each individual intently
And He did this for all mankind
The Atonement of Jesus Christ
Is powerful and real
It’s not only for repentance
But it can strengthen and heal
