Dating 101

Dating can be such a pain
It feels like such a waste of time
I find myself being interviewed
Just to be declined

I think I've got it made
Until the final question
And then I realize how I've failed
To make the right impression

Dating is overrated
I don't find it to be much fun
With questions like, “Have you ever,” or “Do you like?”
Leave me feeling pretty dumb

I feel like there's a checklist
And I never make the cut
I'm just not what he's looking for
He says I'm fun and nice, but. . .

I'm more than just a yes or no
I have qualities deep within
They can't be known by simple questions
Oh wow, where do I begin?

If I didn't feel so much pressure
To answer his questions right
Dating could be more fun
And I wouldn't put up a fight
