I Know You

(Dedicated to and inspired by my loving mother)

I know you -
You gave me life.
I was placed in your arms
And to your heart you held me tight.

I know you -
You watched me grow.
I learned by your perfect example
And you taught me the great truths you know.

I know you -
I watched you every day.
I followed in your footsteps
And it taught me not to stray.

I know you -
You've always been there.
I've come to you with my sad heart
Through your loving eyes I always knew you cared.

I know you -
You share with me your love.
You teach me all the things I need to know
To be lead to live with our Father up above.

I know you -
You'll love me to the end.
You're not just my beautiful mother
But you have become my closest and dearest friend!

My Sacred Friend

He is a man
He is so pure
He is love unfeigned
His kindness is sure.

He is the healer of my wounds
He is the lover of my enemy
He is my confidant
He died in Gethsemane.

He is my sacred friend
He is with me when I ache
He is my advocate
His love is no mistake.

He strengthens when I'm weak
He gives hope when I'm in need
He proves He's aware of me
He carries me indeed!

His name is Jesus Christ
He is my sacred friend
He takes me in His arms
He loves me to the end!

I will always love this Man
The One I call my friend
I'll look to Him in faith
My love to Him I'll lend.

This Holy House

This holy house of mine
Where my spirit rests within
Is a sacred home divine
A place intolerant of sin.

This holy house of mine
Where love is within its walls
Is a majestic replica
A heaven where peace calls.

This holy house of mine
Where God's Spirit can be found
Is a marvelous work so fine
It stands on holy ground.

This holy house of mine
Where my Savior comes to dwell
Is a beautiful creation
That my spirit knows so well.

This holy house of mine
Where my spirit rests within
Is a scared home divine
That my Savior resides in.

Treasure Beyond Measure

The things that we so treasure
Are far more worth than gold!
It's the simple things of life
That have meaning yet untold.

The things that we so treasure
Carry value beyond a price.
As we esteem what we've been given
They will go with us after this life.

The things that we so treasure
Don't mean as much to man
We've a fortune that we cherish
That will fulfill the Master's plan.

The things that we so treasure
Can never be taken away
Unless we give it to the one and only
Who desires to lead us astray.

"Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven,"
For there is where you'll find your heart!
No moth, nor rust, or thieves to steal.
There you'll attain the greater part!

Fear

"Fear is for prey," they say
For cowards it is true!
That enemy is gonna stay
If you let it get to you.

Fear is not a friendly friend
It's cold and hard and rude.
It offers a more faithless trend
That makes it hard to move.

Fear tries to seem sweet and kind
It's purposes are vain.
That enemy leaves it's prey so blind
Makes faith go down the drain!

Fear really isn't what it seems
It laughs when we give in.
"Faith is so far away," it gleams.
"It has gone for a little spin."

"Fear is for prey," they say.
For cowards it is true!
If you tell it to go away
Then faith will lead you through!

In the Midst of Darkness

In the midst of darkness
The shadows are close by
I feel I can't move away
It's getting harder to try.

In the midst of darkness
The Advesary laughs at me
Isn't there was way out of this?
This is my humble plea.

In the midst of darkness
It all goes cold and gray
I try to find the light of heaven
I pray that it might stay!

In the midst of darkness
I find I yearn for the light
'To conquer' isn't impossible
Father tries to lend me sight.

In the midst of darkness
I kneel in humble prayer
I use all my strength to understand
The Savior is always near!

In the midst of darkness
I lean upon my Lord
He comes to be by my side
I will bravely take the sword!

In the midst of darkness
When I feel I can't go on
I search and pray for the Spirit
And learn He's been there all along!

In the Sight of My Father

(Dedicated to and inspired by my two loving Fathers)

I am His daughter
Much love He holds inside.
He sees me how I am
The beauty I try to hide.

I am His daughter
He wants for me to see
All the royalty I carry
His princess I'll forever be.

I am His daughter
With beauty glowing so bright
He tries to show me all I've got
All He says must be right!

In the sight of my Father
There's beauty that shows
He wishes for me to notice
The great things He knows.

In the sight of my Father
My beauty runs deep
When I don't see it
He begins to weep.

In the sight of my Father
He will always see
I'm a royal princess of His
And will forever be.

Where Do I Stand?

When right seems to sit at the back of the crowd....
Where do I stand?

When forces of the evil one seem to scream aloud....
Where do I stand?

When Jesus Christ seems to be mocked on every hand....
Where do I stand?

When the Advesary laughs at all I have planned...
Where do I stand?

When the Savior calls to me and asks me to have hope....
Where do I stand?

When Satan whispers discouragement and causes me to moap....
Where do I stand?

Where do I stand when all seems lost?
I STAND BY GOD!

Where do I stand everyday at ALL cost?
I STAND BY GOD!

Get Out Of The Mirror

I look in the mirror, my hair looks great!
Nothing could be better - it's absolute fate.

I stare into it harder, admiring myself
With a face like this - I'd be displayed on a shelf!

Now one more glance and what do I see?
Oh, no! Is that a zit? This can't be!

I stare longer to see what else I find
My hair now looks terrible. What? Am I blind?

Well, now - my makeup! What a disgrace!
I can hardly bare to stare at this face!

My outfit at first - it looked superb.
But I look again and I feel perturbed!

The first glance into the mirror is always swell
But the longer I gaze, I find more that's stale!

It all started out great, with no noticeable flaw
I stared too long - now all I see is one big blah.

So get out of the mirror I'm telling you!
Stop making a fuss! One glance will do!

Are You There?

"Are you there?"
I humbly ask.

"Do you care?"
I plead for an answer.

"Why do I feel so alone?"
My mind begins to question.

"Can you hear my heart moan?"
I sincerely whisper.

- And then what is it I feel? -
His answeres overflowing with love.
I feel I can no longer kneel.

"Here I am dear child."
He gently whispers.

"You are so meek and mild."
He lovingly speaks.

"You come to me with anguish,"
"You speak sad language."

"You ask me if I'm there,"
"Or if I even care."

"You wonder why you feel so alone."
"Oh, yes I can hear your heart moan."

"My dear beloved child, I will always be here!"
"You need not ever fear!"

"I have to let you wonder why,"
And sometimes let you cry."

"Please always know I am there."
"And shall always show I care."

A Rare Find

It's a rare find,
A friend so kind!

A closeness to the spirit
I love to hear it!

With a testimony so strong -
There's no way to go wrong.

Choosing to righteously serve,
Losing all unwanted nerve.

It's not always easy to be,
What Heavenly Father wants of me.

With good friends light,
I can work to win the fight!

Gratitude to our Father above,
Blessing me with friend's love.

It's a rare find,
A friend so kind.

Beautiful Creations

I look all around and see
All the creations He made for me!

I look upon the trees of green

And stand in awe of what I've seen.

I love the colors of the flowers
And I'm reminded of His loving powers.

I'm a witness of the definite details of every thing,
And I'm a recipient of the joy they always bring.

I view the sun setting in the sky,
And watch in wonder as the birds fly by.

Each creation stands as a testimony -
That He lives and He truly loves me!

I'm thankful to Heavenly Father for my sight
And try to show that thanks with all my might.

I thank Him for my ears to hear -
Oh how I know He's always near!

He loves me and it truly shows -
I can feel how gently the wind blows.

So when I look around and see -
I know the creations are for me!
